Delays & Closings
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and weather that could affect a day of learning is never overlooked.
A decision to delay or close cannot be made based on forecasts alone. Multiple factors are considered when making a weather-related decision, including:
-
Snow and ice accumulation
-
Worsening or improving conditions
-
Parking lot and sidewalk conditions
-
Temperature and wind chill
-
Visibility
Because weather reports vary, we gather information from many different sources before making a decision.
We recognize that a schedule change greatly impacts our FCS families, and we try to announce a delay or closure as soon as possible. In some cases, this decision can be made the night before if conditions warrant.
Notification of a delay or closure will be made via the Remind platform (instructions below), FCS Facebook & Instagram pages, 13abc, NBC 24, WFIN/WKXA, and WLIO.
